Research & Development

The products are indeed developed by a technical staff, supported by university professors specialized in the individual scientific fields, and taking into account the regulations governing the various subjects. To this end, a research agreement was signed with the DICAM department of the University of Bologna to study the bearing walls structures, to understand their scientific and regulatory nature with the aim of designing them correctly and therefore enhancing the economies that derive from the use of ICF ITALIA technology.

The research program has so far allowed the study and development of the following scientific topics:

• analysis of possible design paths for the use of reinforced, lightly reinforced or non-reinforced concrete load-bearing wall structures, that can be built with the ICF construction system in accordance with Eurocodes EC2 and EC8.
• validation of the diagrams of construction details typical of the ICF construction system in compliance with current regulations, with particular reference to the case of lighty reinforced walls.
• design strategies for the seismic analysis of load-bearing walls built on reinforced concrete slabs, supported by pillars and diaphragms that make up the basement.

The company’s technical activities are coordinated by Eng. Cristian Angeli, author of specific publications in the field of ICF structure.

For each project, ICF ITALIA’s technical staff proposes, in synergy with the designers, a specific structural analysis with the aim of optimizing the sizing not only of the walls and floors in reinforced concrete, but also of the foundations and floor beams. In this way it is possible to introduce very considerable savings in the construction costs of the “structural part” of the building.

Technical assistance on site is guaranteed by ICF specialized operators, who work alongside the executors in the main construction phases of the work; where necessary, the company makes available to the constuction company special teams that deal with the assembly of the panels on site and assistance with the casting. In any case, a manual is provided to the executors which shows all the construction phases in detail.
