Summer performance of ICF ITALIA walls

To have good comfort in the indoor environment, the thermal shift must be between 8 and 12 hours approximately. This value is sufficient to make sure that the peak of heat that occurs in the early afternoon, reaches the inside in the cooler hours (at night), when it can be more easily dissipated through room ventilation. Shift values ​​greater than 12 hours (typical of very thick brick walls) are not very useful, if not superfluous.

In the event of high attenuation, thermal shift can also settle at lower values ​​because the internal surface temperature is virtually flat, it has a very small oscillation and therefore the concept of thermal shift, i.e. the span in hours between peaks of temperature, it is no longer so relevant. In the brick market, for example, you can find products that have exceptional features in terms of thermal shift. It is not uncommon to find bricks that have a thermal shift ranging from 20 to 22 hours. This high value only worsens comfort conditions inside a building because the heat peak that occurs in the early afternoon reaches the inside after almost 24 hours, at the time the wall is subject to the temperature peak and solar radiation the next day.
